I plan on buying a set of 9. 75X16. 5 rims to mount 33x12. 50x16. 5 tires on. I had these on my 95, but I cant remember the back spacing on the rim. They fit great and cleared all components, but they didnt stick out a mile either. Does anybody know what works the best? If I order them, the tire dealer says he cant return them, so I want to do it right the first time. Also, my buddy bought these a couple years back (he had a 96) and we had to grind off the casting marks on his front calipers. I am guessing he had a deeper back spacing. They should fit over all four of my disk brakes right?

Jtisdale,

Tires and Rims are my next upgrade. These steel wheels are UGLY!!! The stock tires are pretty much worthless, too. I had the same setup you propose on my 93. BFG all terrain and chrome directional American Racing (looked AWESOME, I still miss it). That was with rear drums of course.

Most "good" off road shops should be able order the proper rim. I would think that the larger rim would also help on clearing the brake calipers.

I'm not 100% sure. If I was those stockers would have been off the truck months ago!!!

Did you have any problems clearing your calipers? Also my dealer kinda frowned on the extra wide tires stating that it might prematurely wear out the steering and brake components along with the clutch(this was on my '95). He told me warrenty might be void on these items. I had them on for almost 60K and never had any problems.

No problems on my 93, I had already replaced the old stock stearing shaft with a Borgson (sp?). I had to add a steering stabilizer to it, but I was going to do that anyways. As far as steering and brake wear. 120,000 miles on it when I traded it in. It sold the next day. Origional brakes, origional steering components.

Never took it in to the dealer, so I don't know about the warranty.

I asked my dealer about it and he said "since the tires are aprox the same diameter, the driveline isn't affected. Therefore no probs with the warranty. " That is my dealer though. He thankfully uses common sense (most of the time). My friend in Oklahoma has 33s and they give him no problems. Unfortunately every dealer is different.

Good Luck,

I've had 35" BFG A-T on my truck for about 5yrs now on rims w/5" backspacing they don't rub on the street but would offroad alittle.

But they sure helped out my cruzin on the eway since I have the 4. 10 gear.
