Anyone know where the back-up light switch is for the 95, 5 speed. They will not work and I don't know if they ever have. I did not notice until I was backing into a camp site and a friend told me. The fuse is good the bulbs are good but I have not power to them on the back. I thougt it might be on the trans and pulled the boot no luck.

The backup switch failed on my 97 5 spd manual. It was on drivers side mounted up on top on the transmission between the floorboard and transmission with 2 wires going to it. Dealer wanted $75 for it. I mounted a switch on dash and wired into it near where the 2 wires go to the switch. I read a post where someone removed theirs and sprayed contact cleaner in it and got it working again. Takes a big socket to get it off the trans but I don't remember the size... . I haven't done mine yet.

Good luck, Dave

It's the only thing on the transmission with wires attached. Before you R & R, pull the connector off the switch and "jump" the two conductors in the connector (key on). If the jumper causes the lamps to light (key on), the switch is the problem. If they don't light, check elsewhere. As usual, there's always the possibility of multiple problems - switch plus ???

Thanks for the input. I found the switch and it was unplugged. I guess what happened was when I purchased the truck after about 800 miles I was returning from a short trip and saw a few drips of trans oil on a parking lot. I took the truck in while it was still under warranty. They had to install a new front seal thats how long it has been unplugged. I very seldom drive the truck at night as I pull mostly in daylight.

Thanks again for the help
