Back-Up Lights Have Quit!

My back-up lights have quit working. My truck is a 5-speed. Has anyone had experience with this? If so, what do you recommed for the diagnostic/repair procedure? I assume the problem could lie anywhere from the transmission switch to the relay(s) to the lights themselves..... I have already checked the fuses, they're fine. Any help, as always, is appreciated. I'm getting tired of "feeling" my way around in the dark!

If you are sure you have power from the fuse box,take the wires off of the b/uplight switch and with the ign on, touch the wires together. If they light then the switch is bad. You should have power to one side of the switch.

The bulbs would be the first thing I'd check.

Then check switch,connections,wires, and ground .
Your fuse didn't blow so that should rule out, power surge or hot wire shorting/grounding out.

See my thread in this forum. Same thing happened a few days ago with mine. I pulled the wire off the transmission switch and jumped the wires together. With the key on mine works fine. Looks like a bad transmission switch. I have an appointment for my first warranty claim at under 2000 miles. The chances of them actually having a switch for a 2001 6 speed in stock are probably pretty slim.
