Hey guys,

I know this has been asked a bunch because I searched about 8 threads. The only thing with wires on my trans(5spd)is what looks like a switch held to the tailhousing by 2 bolts, not high up on the driverside on the top of the trans like most of the threads I have read say. My switch also has 3 prongs not 2 so now I 'm afraid I am messing with something else and I don't want to try to jump the plug to see if the lights work and the switch is bad until I'm sure I have the correct switch. Thanks for your help.

I just put my second backup switch in. It goes into the top cover horizontally from the side. You need a light and mirror to see it. If you follow the wire with your hand you can feel it. It needs a socket and extension to take out. The switch is EXPENSIVE!! Over $50 at NAPA. The 3 prong switch sounds like the one for an automatic which has a neutral safety switch built into it. They are cheap, maybe $8 or so.
