I have a 03 2500 4x4. I have lost the back up lights, the fuse is good ,has any one had this problem, and wear do I start to look.

Pull your back lights out and look at the connectors, not the light connectors but further down the harness to the plug connector to the main harness. What you are looking for is corrosion in them. I just went through this on my 2001 and as a coindience I just finished the re-wire tonight. My left tail light went out. I thought it was a burnt bulb, but it turned out to be the connector. Water had gotten into it and corroded (nice chaulky green) around the pins and back into the harness. ;) Good luck

I had to have the switch on my transmission replaced because the backup light quit working. It was under warranty so I just took it to the dealer.

If you have a volt meter you can test this line. Find the single wire coming off the transmission (mine was on the driver's side about center and high) and check it for 12V when in reverse and the ignition on.

You can also use this wire to trigger a set of aux backup lights through a relay... . ;)

The back-up light switch is a known problem with the NV5600. I changed mine out in about 5 minutes, counting the time it took to retrieve and replace tools.

I have a backup light problem too. My passenger side lights keep burning up, not out. The bulbs get fried and the plastic end of the bulbs partially melt. I used a white paste for electrical connections, but it only lasted a couple months. Now it's back. I think it's the strip the bulbs connect to that's bad. I heard chevy trucks have this problems sometimes.
