Hey,
I just checked my ball joints on my truck w/ 26k miles on it. I've never checked this before, but I read the procedure in a post somewhere. When I pry the wheel up with the axle on a jack, the upper and lower joints move about 1/16" on the passenger side and about 3/16" on the driver side. They make a thump noise when they moved while I was checking them.
Sooooo, are they good? or are they bad? The lower one didn't seem to move much on the passenger side, mainly the top one. On the driver side they both moved about 3/16. So what do you think? I'm going to the dealer Wednesday for other work and want to get some background on this before I go.
Thanks!
