Just finished replacing my front rotors/pads and rear drums/shoes. All began when I got a horrible shaking when braking from about 50 mph. Didn't seem to happen when the brakes were cold, so I concluded it had to be a bad rotor or brake drum. Replaced everything (rears first, no change so followed up by replacing the rotors and pads up front). Thought that had to take care of the problem. NOOOOO! The problem was intermittent but increasing in frequency. Woke up in the middle of the night and read the Haynes manual and decided to start by unplugging the C. A. B. (controller-anti lock brake) under the dash. Problem Solved! Since this is the brain that controls the abs system, I'm not sure what my next step should be. Just drive it like this? Get it scanned to find out where the defective part is? I'd like to have RWAL brakes again, but at what price? Anyone gone through this? Any advice? I love this truck but the brakes are definitely the weakest link in an otherwise great vehicle. TIA, Jim
