Bad Diesel or Something Else?

Help I have a 05' 3500 with 13000 mi on it. For the past tank or week or so my cummins has been running much louder, less fuel economy, and slightly slugish. Could I have gotten a bad batch of diesel, could it just be the winter fuel, or something else? any advice or opinions on this would greatly be appreciated thank you.

Get glass container and catch some fuel from the water drain on the fuel filter maybe a cup full , then let sit for a couple hrs. and see if there is any seperation or sediment.
After that get a fuel pressure gauge to see a problum like this coming.

Have you changed the fuel filter yet? If not then it's time.

Myself and several of my friends had the same trouble in the KC Area in Dec. The fuel had a Yellow tint to it and the mileage was bad to say the least (maybe 4-5 mpg if you were lucky and high egt's. ) We use our vehicles for work and not play , you could watch the fuel gauge fall like a rock . I suspect the Cetane was low or the oil companies were just trying to dump off some old product. I added some conditioner to my main tank and blended what was in the aux tank. That helped get it flushed out and on its way.
