Bad EGT guage?

Howdy,



I recently(Sept. ) put a Di-pricol EGT and boost guages in the 98 in sig. Last week the EGT went south? It would only show about 50 deg. So I pulled the guage out to check the connection on the back and they were fine, but I unplugged it and then plugged it back up. Now it will only read between 2-400 deg I checked the wire and it seems fine. How would I go about checking to see if it was a bad thermocouple or a bad guage?

Might try pulling the probe and run a torch over it while someone watches the gauge. You might also want to check the connection of the probe to the sending wires.

Mine just died after 2. 5 yrs ( 200k ) Had to replace. RC

Mine had been sticking recently so I called up Danin Seeing how it was less than a year old and should still be under warranty they had me ship it to them to fix it. The other option was to replace it with a new one but it would have been an Optix and I wanted to try to keep the gauges matching. :-laf



Maybe give them a call and see what they say. They were very helpful when I called.
