Bit of history first..... truck was making a fuel rattle when leaving from a stop and most times on tip in acceleration. Heard from many that FCA is a common problem for this concern, was making plans to get it done. Before I could replace it I did a really hard run on the truck, full throttle to way over legal highway speeds. Once I coasted down, the truck was running rough and chugging at lower speeds, higher speeds seemed ok. Did some preliminary checks, replaced injectors and FCA, truck now runs smooth again, but over idle it has a bad fuel knock and blue smoke. With a quick snap of the throttle, rail pressure goes to over 20000 psi. Truck is sitting at a friends shop right now. Hope someone has a suggestion on where to go from here.

Thanks

More info, no codes stored, used temperature gun on exhaust manifold and all cylinders within 20'F of each other, 2/3 a bit cooler due to intake opening, 4/5 a bit hotter due to turbo outlet.

Have you tried removing the TST? Mine was rattling pretty hard on acceleration, removed my old R37 TST and sent it in to Mark to have the upgrade. The rattle went away with the TST off, when I re-installed it with the new programming, the only one that rattles is the economy selection.

That doesn't address your blue smoke... .

The TST is only a year old (the previous box failed, original harness). I'll try that tonight, I have a bypass harness. I honestly think its being overfuelled at this point, just not sure how its happening.

Well tonight I was going to recheck the valve adjustment and try bypassing the TST. Fired it up and it only had a bit of smoke, idled well, decided to take it for a drive. Ran well, fuel knock still there until about 1500rom, then went away, a little black smoke, no blue. Brought it back and parked it in front of the shop and it was running rough again and smoking. Went to go get the temp gun to check the exhaust manifold temps again and as I was walking back I saw white puffs coming from the roaddraft tube... ... ... ..... not good. Removed the oil filler cap and it looks like a train puffing away... definetely not good... ... ..... :{. Looks like the motor is coming out... ... .
