I had my truck into the dealer this morning because it has had a bad idle for a while and it seems to be getting worse lately. The mechanic said I had an intermittently bad cam sensor (which is on order), but he also said I had a bad #2 injector.
My question is can an injection pump problem look like a bad injector?
The reason I ask is because at 15,000 miles, I discovered that I had a dead lift pump - for who knows how long. The only reason I figured it out is that I installed a FP gauge and had very low pressure while cruising and NO pressure at WOT. I'm wondering if the bad lift pump killed the injection pump. I have had DD2's for about 6 months - so I need to check with Lawrence at DD Monday morning to get his input as well.
Your input is appreciated. TIA!
