I used to get 16mpg city and 20mpg hwy,

Now I get 10mpg city and 13 hwy,

I replaced fuel filter,air cleaner,fuel supply pump,map sensor,

I have a 1998 24v 4*4, TST power max 2,Banks 4'' exhaust, Percision tripple plate torque converter and shift kit, turbo elbow,

How about the IAT sensor? I consider it routine maintenance to change it out ever year, it's only 20-30 bucks (cost me $27 the last time) and I usually gain 2 mpg or more. Some people have had good luck just cleaning it but I never did.

J, what did you do to the truck just before the mpg went south??? I was going to sugest a MAP senser change but I see you have done that, I would also clean the IAT senser next to the MAP, I dont know if it will help but its worth a try. What kind of psi is the new pump giving you? A bad L/P can cause bad mpg.

cheers, Kevin

I've noticed my mileage starting to go down too, and can't figure it out. When the truck was new I got 16 city, 18 highway, and about 14 towing. Now I am at 16 highway, 10. 5 towing, and only 27K on the odo.

It is on the drivers side of the engine back behind the MAP sensor, it is hard to see and somewhat hard to get to but after you do it once it is a 5 minute job the next time. If you search for IAT you will find tons of information and maybe even some pictures. The IAT sensor is probably the #1 thing to do to improve mileage, it was for me.
