I used to get around 15 mpg per tank on my truck when it was new (under 5000) miles. since then I have installed a Va and a PS boost module. Now I am getting less than 12 mpg on a tank. I have averaged in 7. 8%on mileage for bigger tires and I am still @ twelve. I tow a horse trailer at least once a week. Is it the boost mod? VA is still working the same. Maybe it is the weight of my right foot... ..... Just wondering

Mileage

Most of us have picked up a little mileage with mods. . You shure you aren't getting you foot in it more 'cause its so fun to drive. First week I had my mods, mileage was in pitts!

Like I said, I Might Be Flooring it too much:D I also have tried to just run on cruise control @ 60 and I only get 12. 5 per gallon. Just wondering if there is something else wrong:confused:

Greg

You can see from my sig. what I am driving. Mine weighs 7475lbs. with 3/4 tank of gas and no one and nothing in the truck. I get 16. 5 mpg. comb of highway and local driving summer fuel. With straight highway driving at 65 to 70mph I get 19 mpg. On winter fuel this goes to 15 mpg combination and 17. 5 highway. I have no mods and I drive pretty smooth. My truck is bone stock with 39,000 miles on it. I hope this helps, you may have a heavy foot :D

With the mods you have you should get a little better mpg,BUT, if you drive a little bit more aggresive with the new found power and run at faster speeds with 4:10's mpg will be worse, what speed or rpm do you cruise at down the highway. John

Crappy mileage here too.....

The right foot only seems to cost me 1 MPG. If I baby it that's all I gain. The colder weather seems to have dropped it a little also. I don't know if we get the winter blend fuel here in SoCal or not.

Best indicator of how much fuel your burning would be your boost gauge. Mine is rarely under 15#'s. Lots of little hills around here and the truck weighs 10K lbs.

I was really ****** when I got the truck and only got 10. 5 MPG. Jumped to 12. 5 with the EZ and other mods. Now averages in cold weather and a heavier right foot are around 11 MPG.

The heavier right foot syndrome comes from the fact that I hate babying the truck. It's just too much fun to get on the freeway and watch people try to pass the big slow (in their minds) truck. Seeing their expressions in the rear view mirror is just too great.

Mileage be damned, I want more power!!!!

Maybe my truck is a freak. I get 19mpg round town, 22highway. Read my sig. My tires aren't for the faint of heart or scared of hieghts. I drive under 2100rpm almost all the time.

Can't see it being mods. You are runnig real close to me with the advantage of the timing in the van aken. I would say the 410's but youre rubber pretty much takes care of that.

Maybe the IAT sensor?I put a new one in a 75k and my old one is perfect. I was suprised since i've run a K+N since new.

I just di a 3450km rounder and got 20. 8out and 4 days in city, lots of idle,winter-fuel. 20. 6 return at -26C. Speed varied 70-90+. This is on a US gal. Calculated by hand. :D

Got to play with a maxipad for 3+ hours. {he just would't give up}

Big White Beast:

I am starting to think we are in the same boat with the mileage thing. I get a 1 mpg change too. Could it be a California ECM that is doing it?

Juiced Cummins:

What is IAT sensor?

Cumminspower:

Your truck is a Freak!!!!!!!!:D

700rmk:

i just changed it 5000 miles ago. (fuel filter)

Floor It: I am usually @ 1800 to 2300 rpm's but have no problem layin' WOT for Ford or a Chevy

Now to clear anything else up: I drive local most of the time. Maybe a 25 miler a week then a 50 to 75 miler with a horse trailer. That is with my wife driving it, babying it all the way.

Intake air temperature sensor. IT is on the backside of the block drivers-side. Right behind the map sensor.

There was a few threads awhile back and an article in the book.

Mine was a PIG when new till I hit 18000km's. It wouln't go 6. 5hrs on a full tank at 68mph. Was ready to give it back.
