Engine/Transmission (1998.5 - 2002) Bad Mileage???

I can't seem to get good milage out of my truck. Empty I get around 16. 5 highway and towing a 12,000 lb Carraige 28 ft 5th wheel (12' 6" tall) at 65 I can't get better than around 10. 5. I run a fuel modifier always, usually Red Line 85 plus. Towing I run in 5th gear around 2250 - 2300 rmps, 700 degrees and 14 lbs of boost. Everyone says should be better but no one knows whats wrong. Had the intake temp sensor check, accurate within 1/4 degree of actual. Someone help me stop this thing from suckin down fuel!!

Sounds normal to me.........

But then I don't drive for mileage. Your empty mileage sounds about right for a 4X. Towing could be a bit better. Might want to try dropping the RPM's a bit. Wind resistance has a huge effect on these trucks. With my utility bed it knocks my mileage down to around 12 all the time. Made one run to Phoenix, all freeway and got a best 14. Even had the truck mostly unloaded for that run.

Mine was anywhere between 15-17 with the EZ, Scotty and 3" exhaust with no muffler. I added the Comp, 4"exh, BD2's and now I average 20-22.

I JUst ordered the comp this morning, trade in the EZ and $300 and they upgraded me to the comp. Hopefully that will help me. Anyone else see a big difference between the comp and the ez, and can a set of injectors help?

In the towing and hauling forum a few days ago there was a good thread about what guys were getting as far a fuel mileage, you and me are about average.

how much difference would 275 injectors make for me. My truck was rated 265 in stock trim, so are these onlt good for 10 hp? Mileage difference?
