Ok, you all remember the knocking noise I thought I had. Well, this morning I went to the bank. While sitting at the drive-up window, I could hear it - echoing off of the brick wall. I went from there to the diesel shop and had them listen to it. The guy took a stethescope thing that had a rod sticking out of it, put the end of the rod on the injector and listen to each one. He said they should have a 'sharp' sound to them, and two of them were 'soft' sounding, and that was not good.
I pulled them and dropped them off. They disassembled a couple to see why they were acting 'strange' when they tested them. They are scored/scratched up on the inside.
560. 00 to repair them. They're going to put them back together, so I can at least move the truck.
I guess it's better than having some kind of mechanical problem, but I can hear the money sinkhole opening up already...
