I got a problem with my TT there is a musty smell coming from the front end by the bedroom and I cannot figure out where it is coming from, it started about a month ago. I thought the tanks were empty so I went and dumped them nothing really came out,I've tried the odor controls for the tanks and it seemed to help a little but the smell is still there In the front and not at the back of the camper. Everything looks clean underneath so any suggestions are appreciated.

I had a musty smell like you described last year and went throught the usual check list of things to check. I found a small leak by a window in the bedroom that leaked water onto the carpet under the bed. I chaulked the window with RV sealant and the leak was fixed, but the musty smell persisted although less of a smell. I mixed up a small solution of that Fabreze with baking soda and put in on the carpet. After a day or two, I vacumed the spot and the smel was gone.

I also put a mixture of Lysol and RV Orange tank cleaner (from Camping World or WalMart) in all the drains when I store the camper as well as fabric softner sheets in all the storage compartments.

Next time I'm ready to tow, I hook up the Dodge CDT and go with a smile on my face with a good smelling trailer. At least to my nose. :)

I am also suggesting that you put activated charcoal after you resolve the issue. It worked for me when my AC is producing this gym smell like scent with a little smell of fuel.

I keep a window partly open and the roof vent up (it has a cover). It has worked well for every camper we have had.

Tip: Get some RV antifreeze and pour some down the drains and put some in the toilet bowl. It will not evaporate and it will keep the toilet slide plate seal lubricated. Did this all the time in Az. as any water will evaporate.

I agree with byoslandry, you probably have a leak with water getting in the ceiling, wall or floor. Not good if mold has formed in the wall etc. How old is the trailer? Chris

That is pretty funny. Wonder how firehot found it??????? Answer ONE of my question on how old the trailer is. At least 13+ years.

Ever place poison bait for mice, etc? Bad idear...critter dies in the wall & rots for months. Just sayin'.

If you do find a leak or the area , spray some shockwave on it, it's what we use in Disaster relief for killing mold and it kills the root of the mold, it's a hospital disinfectant, works on contact, good luck with finding leak ,on edit : reread post, post is too old to help op now, maybe someone else will benefit from this product we use to kill mold.
