A coworker of mine installed a SPA Design Dual pyro and boost gauge on his 2000 ETC 5 speed last week.

ADDED ON EDIT: he has 275 injectors and a straight pipe. He called me today and asked me why he's getting 1100 F* EGTs:eek: as soon as the gauge comes online(with the engine off), if he leaves the key in that position the EGT will move up and down around 1100-1300(again with the engine off)... turn the engine over and at idle the gauge climbs to 1500 goes all over from 1500-1600...

I went over there and we reset the gauge... zero pressure... cycled the ignition over again... and once again before starting it the EGT was at 1100-1200 and once again after starting it idled at 1500-1600

Bad thermocouple?

any ideas?

Thanks in advance

When I installed the Guage, I got a weird problem too. When I started it, the guage read 359degrees with the engine off. It only rose on it's own accord and only a few degrees. Luckily I live close to Nowel and his band of merry bombers, and I bought it from him. The first diagnostic we did was pull the thermocouple plug, and see what reading we got. Same 359 degrees. I then unplugged the amplifier box and the guage read 32 degrees this meant to me that things were ok at the thermo couple and box. So, then, I was down at HVAC's house and good ole brainy BPine was down there and we pulled the display. Aparently, when I "depinned" the harness, I did replace the thermo guage color plugs correctly. It took an objective set of eyes to spot the wrong order. Switched back and voila! guage has worked fine since. Not sure if this is what you encountered, but if it is , try it out. Also, make sure that the "thr setting is set at 1000" good luck

pull connector at thermo couple and check for continuity

if no cont , then thermo is bad. Period... ..... no easier way to test

later B... ... ... ... ... ... .
