Hey guys my dad has a 98, 12 valve, and any time he puts the pedal to the metal he gets a really bad vibration. The vibration only happens when the truck shifts into overdrive. I am not kidding when I say the vibrations are bad... they feel like they could tear the truck apart... if it wasn't Dodge!! :D

It almost feels like the transmission mounts are gone. Any one had this problem?

I just called him and he said he has checked the mounts, but he hasn't checked the driveshaft for bends/balance. Thanks!!

since it only does it in over drive check carrier barring could be shot and under overdrive your torque is high and it could cause the shaft to bounce not sure though and I don't know enough about trans but could be torque convertor depending on the amount of shake my alternator was taking a dump and I didn't know it and it was sending an arc into my pcm an it cause my convertor to chatter when I would step down on the pedal the truck chattered pretty bad when it did it maybe that will help not sure.

Cool I'll tell him about that also. The whole truck shakes uncontrolably, and honestly feels like something is about to let go. It is almost like you are driving over a cattle guard and it wont stop until you take your foot off the pedal completely.

That sounds just like my old torque converter did a couple of weeks ago before I put in a new trans and t/c. Good luck with the easy stuff first though!
