Engine/Transmission (1998.5 - 2002) Bad VP44??

Hey guys, I am trying to help a friend of my brother. He has a 2000 1 ton 4x4 CTD with a Quadzilla box and it died and will not restart. He said he has good pressure at the shraeder valve on the VP44 (no guage, said that it blows out hard when depressed). He also said that he has code P0382 [(M) Intake Air Heater Relay #2 Control Circuit Problem detected in #2 air heater solenoid/relay circuit (not heater element)]. I don't think this code has anything to do with the no start problem. Could this problem be an electrical component, or maybe the VP44. Hopefully someone can help guide me in the right direction.

Go to a dealership and get the codes cleared first and see if the code comes back, next try unplugging the quad box, it may possibly be defective, just be sure to plug the factory connections back together, giver a whirl.

Some VP's die right after the box goes on. Is this what happened?

Is there fuel at the injectors? Loosen a few lines at the head and crank it.

Also now that the intake heaters don't work, it will be harder to start.

You may have a bad relay or fuse that is a possible cause.

Check them.
