I've read the previous posts about whether to remove the baffle or not. Lots of pros and cons. I believe the baffle needs to be there to guide linear air to the turbo. Right or wrong, it sounds good to me. In all the posts I read, it was either remove the baffle completely or leave it in completely. Some liked the whine of the turbo and throatier sound with the baffle removed. Some did not.

So here's the question. Has anyone just removed the foam from the baffle and reinstalled it without the foam? Seems to me it would result in linear airflow and more noise. Don't know, that's why I'm asking.

I've never heard of this baffle..... from the posts above, sounds like maybe its in the intake tube after the air filter, before the Turbo? I too would get the TDR issue Joe mentioned above..... however, can someone give us the Readers Digest condensed version? Where is it and bottomline what happens if it's removed? Can it be put back in once removed? Thanks in advance!

Kcpolk-
This is what I know. It is between the filter and turbo. It can be removed and put back. There is a square of hi-density sponge rubber type material surrounding the baffle. It can be removed and replaced also. It seems like all the discussion in the past has been to remove the entire thing or leave it alone. I was just wondering if anyone just took out the foam and left the rest of the baffle in. Personally, I took the baffle out and couldn't tell the difference. Took the foam off and put the baffle back in, and couldn't tell the difference. Couldn't hear the turbo whistle, only the growl of the engine. :)
