Been doing some reading on the newer Fleetgaurd LF9028 (the one with the venturi bypass filter section) and subseqently the Baldwin 7317 as it seems like the same filter for 1/2 the cost according to some people.
My questions are this:
1) will either of these work on a 01 regular output Cummins as a replacement for the stock oil filter.
2) I already have a Amsoil single bypass, so this may be some over kill filtration wise but I am concerned that I will drop oil pressure and flow too far by having aprox 20% total going through bypass (10% each filter).
Anyone know if this will likely be a problem???
I ran my last oil just short of 40K between changes with 5k full flow and 10K bypass filter changes. Oil analysis at 6-7k intervals.
Any idea's about these filters and the questions I have raised??
