are baldwin filters any good. there is a local trucking out fit that sells just baldwin filters for semis and other heavy duty applications. it would be nicer to just go there and get my filters instead of ordering online and paying shipping.

Baldwin is a large truck filter company. They are a competitor to Fleetguard (a Cummins subsidiary). I understand Fleetguard makes filters for many OEM's including Cat. Geno's Garage offers a good price on Fleetguard and they are an 800 number away (755-1715). I've always used Fleetguard and even at the 800 hp level, Ol' Sickly's engine looked fine inside at bearings, etc. , showing the filters were working well.

Last I heard, Baldwin is still ranked up there with Donaldson, Hastings and Fleetguard. Yes I have used Baldwin but I'm about to start using Fleetguard since I signed up for the Cummins PowerBooster discount which makes the filters less costly.

Grey Wolf,

How much does it cost to belong to this club? Is that a yearly amount?

I don't tow a t/t, is it worth the cost of joining this club?

Thanks,

WAYNES WORLD

Per the Rocky Mountain site there is a one time fee of $50. I joined about 10 yrs. ago and have enjoyed open houses, parts discounts, newsletters, etc. I guess it all depends on how much you think you would use it, as to whether it's worth or not to you?

In reallity, there are only 3 oil filter manufacturers, Baldwin, Allied Signal, and Champion. These 3 manufacturers make the filters for all others. However, all with varying specifications!
