Just an FYI for those in dire need of some filters. Some Mopar are really getting scarce. The prices are very reasonable if you search. I have read that some dealers are using aftermarket because Mopar are not available.

I found this on another forum.

The PF46152 uses layered media. The most inner media shows it to be 3-6 micron absolute. The PF46108 is <4 micron absolute. Therefore, this application uses redundant high efficiency fuel filters in series. Typically, you will see a more open media filter used as the primary/fuel water separator. Baldwin Filters is confident in the performance of the PF46152 and PF46108 for this application. Each of the respective OE numbers was analyzed by our design engineers in the development of the PF46108 and the PF46152 to ensure that our products meet the performance requirements of the application.

Dealer say we can only use Mopar/Cummins approved fuel filters, so the question I have that no one has answered yet, have the Baldwin filters been approved by Mopar/Cummins? Without seeing something on Baldwin letter head stating they have been approved by Mopar/Cummins I will not use one, I don't have the $$$ to fight dealers or FCA if I was to use one and the fuel system goes south...

Mopar/Ram/etc cannot require you to only use one brand of filter, period.

They can require you to use a filter than meets certain specs. If the Baldwin meets those specs then it’s approved by Ram. If you look in the owners manual under fuel filters you will see this requirement. 3um for the engine mounted and 5um for the frame mounted.

On page 466 of my owners manual it has this about filters and I quote: {You must use Mopar®/Cummins® approved fuel filter elements in both your engine mounted filter and frame mounted filter.} no where does it say Mopar/Cummins specs...

What year is your truck?

This is the ‘22 Owners manual.

So what's a person to do when you get page 466 thrown in your face as its the gospel that no others meet Mopar/Cummins what ever.

Page 470 has the requirements, that’s the important page.

That being said the specs listed above are a little ambiguous for meeting the OEM requirement.

I’m a big fan of Baldwin filters, but would need to see something better than the specs above to run them in my ‘22.

I have always had 2 or more filters on hand and would love to see others have fuel filters we can use as Mopar/Cumins filters are to darn high prices right now, that is if you can get a set without months wait time...

This what Parker/Racor Hannifin says and is a division of Baldwin. With one truck we can be picky and spend the extra dollars to buy oem. But if you have a 100 trucks, the half price of the Baldwin is very attractive.

" Racor develops new solutions using ISO, SAE, JIS and other world-recognized testing procedures to conform to any specifications required by our OEM customers"

Many years ago Dodge published a TSB with SAE specs and percentages for CR filters. I haven’t seen one for the newer CR stuff, it would be good info to use. I know that Fleetguard no longer uses SAE J1985 for their CR media. When that TSB came out the Baldwin PF7977 was better than the OEM.

The nanonet media that Fleetguard makes is pretty awesome. It’s whats uses in the engine mounted filter. Donaldson has a rival media that is also excellent and a little cheaper. I’m surprised they don’t have a cross for the 13+ Ram Cummins.

Stick with FleetGuard, MOPAR and RACOR and you will not have an issue.

The thread headline states '19+ Ram trucks. Fleetguard/Racor does not offer the primary fuel filter yet, nor do they offer the transmission filters. Baldwin makes "all" filters for the new Rams.

The thread is not an endorsement for Baldwin, just an alternative choice, if needed. With Mopar backorder time, in the 2 month range, sometimes you can't wait.
