considering putting this on either my 06 or my 90 that currently has an hx35w from a 01 H. O. question is can i change exhaust housing to use with my jacobs brake on my 06 and if so would this be laggy compared to my stock he351 or hx35w? does any one know what size compressor wheel it has i know the 06 has a 60mm and the 90 has a 56mm, and also what size exhaust housing that is?(which would probably have to change anyways if going on my 06 and hook to 4'' jake brake) do they whistle hard ( or at least as loud as the H. O. turbo on my 90 which SCREAMS!!)

Oh no... you don't want that turbo at all! Tell you what, send it to me, and in return I'll send you a few candy bars or something! ;)

Here's what Garret says:

Products | Turbochargers

It looks like a 63. 5 mm inducer wheel.

Spool should be great, with a noticeable power increase. Honestly, this would probably be better suited for your '06 unless you have significant fueling mods on the '90. You could then take the HE351 from the '06 and upgrade the '90 with it.

You should be able to make the Jacobs work with it without too much trouble. I made the Jacobs work with a SPS66. Firewall clearance may be the biggest obstacle.

thanks! yeah, thats kinda what i was thinking of doing. i have a stock 2nd gen manifold to go on my common rail as well. but, i just did put a hx35w off of an H. O. on my 90 and hate to change that now too, so being a 63. 5 wheel it should flow like a killer B or super B special. my only thing is i don't want to sacrafice ANY spool up on my 06 but don't mind it so much on the 90 (pump tweeked hard, afc and smoke screw all the way and full power screw about as far as i think is safe before it runs away, soon to come P. O. D. 's and 3200 spring)

The BB is going to help spool but that is still a big compressor wheel and big turbine wheel. In a comparable Phat Shaft thats not a good spooling turbo, makes lots of power but its laggy pig unless the setup is right.

Depends on how you want to use the truck, mods, and ultimately what housing is on it.

The housing will play a key role. My 3782R has the same turbine wheel as the GT3788R, but my comp wheel has a small inducer/exducer. The Stage 3 Cummins kit is a GT3788R, and most say it's a tad slow to spool with the standard . 99 exhaust and can surge, but with a . 89 it's a good setup for DD/race, but not great for towing.

I would call Tom at Turbo Resource and see what he knows about it.
