I had the balls joints replaced on my truck and I have noticed a couple spots of some kind of fluid in my driveway. It looks like something is dripping onto the inside of the tire. What would that be?

Mine does the same thing. More than likely gear lube getting past the seals. Gotta get the axles out of the way when replacing ball joints. Seals COULD have been damaged putting the axles back in. Might give it some time before doing anything about it to see if it will "correct" itself.

I'm just not thrilled about tearing my front end down to fix mine. It's not a hard job, just takes time.

stownsend, your truck is the same as mine and i had to have my axel seals replaced at around 20k the dealer did it under warranty and it is not easy to do, they have to spead the diff to get the gears out for the tool to reach the seals for reinstall, i would say they messed them up when they put the axel shafts back in, (doesn't take much to do that)

I took my truck back to the dealer today and they replaced the axle seal at no charge. I'll see if that fixes it.

Thanks for your responses.
