My truck has 117k with the OEM ball joints but they are due to be replaced. The upper right makes a lot noise and popping going down the road with some steering slop. Had new tires put on and inspected it while on the lift and they are shot. If you had $500 in your pocket ready to buy what brand would be on top of your list? Ole red has been sitting most of the summer and I need to get it back on the road. Seems from my research there are limited options for aftermarket joints in the 2wd.

I have had really good luck with the premium ball joints from NAPA. They are one of the few aftermarket ball joints that come with the boot sealed to the joint like OEM.

I got 200K on the 1st set of Moogs on my ‘95. I have 180K on the ones on my ‘98 and they’re still good and tight. You won’t go wrong with the Napa’s, either.

I got the ones with the green boots (forget the brand) theyre OK.
I feel I should have gone for the OEM's for the work involved.....but it's done now.

Update. I went with the top of the line ball joints from NAPA. Hope to get started on the project in the morning.

Well all are installed. The old ball joints were very bad. I did break an ABS sensor and had to replace that. The rivets were not too bad just time consuming with drilling them out but the air chisel helped out alot. Yesterday on the alignment rack it popped two leaks in the brake lines where it cross over the top of the frame. It was rotten and had the shop throw another line on. Back on the road again!
