Ball joints and r/inner tie rod end

I have a 2003 2500 with 140,000 miles on it. I took it to the alignment shop today and they say I need upper and lower ball joints and a right inner tie rod end. They said that the only way the tie rod end is available is to buy the entire rack and pinion for about $700. Can this be true? Can anyone recommend a good auto parts store in the DFW area that carries Moog Parts?

Unless you have some oddball experimental/concept truck, you have a steering gear and not a rack & pinion. I think they're a little off...

Ball joints probably areneeded, but I wouldn't trust their opinion or let them replace them. It still drives so hold off and shop around.

It is a late 2003, in fact most of the things I get for it or have done to it are for 2004, and for sure, it has a rack and pinion. I have been under it many times.
