I have read all of the posts I could find on ball joints. All of you who have done the work yourself, what kind of time is involved? Is the service manual the best reference for this or is it really necessary? Local shops want 600-700 chips. Too much I think. But if it's going to be more than a five hour job, I might think about having it done. Just don't trust other people with my baby. The treat it like it were your own attitude is becoming rare. So anyway, thanks for any information you can give. Also, any tips or tricks not mentioned in the other posts?

ball joints

My dealer could not do the work... so they had Bear Frame and alignment do it for them.

I had to wait 5 months for the ball joint (off set by 1 degree). Cost the dealership about $250 (for installation and alignment).

You can call them and they will provide you the information on where to get the ball joint 303-781-5575 ask for Kevin Drake. Or you can e-mail me and I can give you more information.
