Do ball joints generally wear quicker on a 3500 drw front end because of the hub extensions? I know the tire is tucked back inside the wheel well, but all the weight on the truck's front end is at the end of the extension. That extension must act like a lever puting additional stress on the ball joints like a 2500 with a wheel with less back space. I just ordered wheels for my truck with less backspace and for some reason this just popped into my head.

I haven't heard any complaints on that issue. I have 25K on mine, lots of towing, lots of mountian roads. No slop in the steering, and no wandering of the front end. Sarge
