Help, I am being told that the only option for my lower ball joints is new lower control arms! All of the part stores here list a part number but say the ball joints are unavailable. Does anyone have a source for these?

You have a 2x4?

Well i would try the dealer or call moog yourself. You prob have to drill the rivits out and bolt in a new ball joint. Really simple and someone should sell it. Try calling moogs tech line first

I too was told I had to replace the lower A-arm. My lower ball joints were spot welded in place. Grinded off spot weld and pressed in new joints. New ball joints came from NAPA. Don't have any part #'s.

Ball joints are available for earlier models, not later ones. I'm not sure of the years, but when they started to rivet the entire assembly together, the entire arm needs to be replaced as a unit. I called Moog directly and they said they did not have any plans to produce a replacement joint for the later models (4x2). The earlier models did have pressed joints. .

Hey Jeff, are the ball joint part #'s you quoted in your post for a 2x4 2500, 1995? Sounds like it is but after reading the follow on threads I'm not quite sure. Why can't it just be simple. Seems like everything involving the front end of our trucks less than simple. Mkes me want to tear the whole mess out and build one from scratch.

The part #'s stacerbob posted are correct, already picked them up and had them installed. Jeff, don't know why Moog told you that, they make the ball joints for my 2000.
