Hey there guys, I am thinking of getting rid of the 06 and upgrading to a 2007. 5 6. 7L I found one I really liked at a local dealer here. 2500 SLT Quad 4x2 with the 6 speed Manual. Man that manual is geared SOO much better than the 06!!!

ANyway, BLuebook says my truck is worth 27,000 as a trade in, they are offering me 24,000. When all is said and done I would be financing 34,000 and some change. THe asking price on the vehicle is 40,500... is this pretty high????

Can I get it lower someplace else? Thanks!!

I ordered a 5500 SLT C&C with Auto and standard Cab in a 2 wheel drive... with the Nav Radio and a couple of other features the truck came to 41K and I had quoted a 4500 Laramie that's loaded..... Quad Cab 2 wheel drive like my Jeep. That truck came to 45K at invoice.

Both of these from Dishman, plus the 1000 back from invoice and Farm Bureau rebates... . I'm changing out a worn out F550 that has 500K miles..... the body and frame is great its the engine that's giving us fits... .

If I didn't need a replacement I'd wait... . I want to see how the particulate trap is going to work out... ... .

Sanity check: Do you think you will actually save money by making the trade? Even with the better gearing, and according to fuel economy reports for the 6. 7, you will still get better millage with your 2006, and not have the hastle of always looking for ULSF.

Ditto: I'd rather put 10k (or less) in my truck and have one bad mofo.

Especially after seeing the aftermath of how DC treated their customers on the #53 Cracked block & VP44 failures.

Now, the 5 Star service manager I recently spoke with blamed the 6. 7 problems on "Crappy diesel fuel".

Edited: I mean. . Duhhh! it's diesel! A diesel truck should be able to run pump diesel.

So, I have a problem with DC's service levels and could not recommend buying new.
