My 50yr old Diesel Babe !!

comrades - was listening to a podcast today based in the pacific northwest. 3 counties in oregon are proposing to ban the sale of diesel petroleum fuel by 2024. this makes no sense to me. i looked it up and the bill is real... hopefully this kind of " thinking " will not spread elsewhere. also enjoying the fuel prices up 50 cents per gallon in a month in denver ( sarc ). somewhere in this forum a member stated that the government hates our diesel trucks. i now gather that is true. cheers! :)

Brutha Chris,

This whole transition away from diesel, then gas to electric is driving like a freight train down a hill. Europe has some target date that production of gas/diesel vehicles will stop. FWIW for me, any area that stops selling diesel should be boycotted by all diesel trucks, 18wheelers freight, fuel trucks, etc... they would change their minds quick.

Just my humble opinion.

Cheers, Comrade Ron

i have read that the entire electrical grid would fail if everyone went ahead and bought a coal powered car and tried charging them...did you see a couple months ago that the CEO of general motors ( bacca is her name i think ) was being pressed by a reporter with an actual brain about electric cars. he asked several questions of her.
- where does the electricity come from to charge the vehicle - she answered " the outlet "
- next he said to be more specific - she answered the electrical grid
- pressing her a little more - the city of lansing was her next answer...
- lastly after more questions - she caved and admitted that the electricity comes from coal or nat. gas.

can she be that dumb or just evasive?

lol

cheers, sir!

You know there's lots of pitches out there for GREENer and just like on life, there's a shiney side of the coin and a tarnishedside of the same coin. She pretty much admitted the tarnished side and the shiney not too shiney.

So, in addition to not having power in their homes, the folks also wouldn't have power for their cars. I believe the life cycle of batteries could be more harmful notwithstanding the fossil fuel/coal, would be devastating to the environment.

Remember Forrest Gump, "Stupid as Stupid Does." And Dr Smith on Lost in Space: "We're Doomed, We're Doomed."

So, let's hope Common Sense prevails.

Chee-eers, Comrade Ron

I saw on the news link (I didn't read it) heading, that a town in California would not allow any more fuel stations to be built.....
Saw the same, it's Petaluma CA. They're not allowing any new gas stations to be built or relocated. No mention of singling out diesel. In a town of 58000 people there are 16 gas stations so it seems like the city council was just bored?

The goal is move those folks to Texas and Arizona so you folks can help educate them a little bit, recently move some not to swift from California to Texas with there electric cars wow just image no power.

I grew up the next town north of Petaluma, alot of Ag out that way , I would be surprised if the ban actually happens. Would imagine some new stations would open up just outside city limits if it does.
