Can i adjust the front band without adjusting the rear (really did not want to drop the valve body again). I am having a hunt shift problem and the trans is new 2-3k on it. I installed a TransGo kit to help with the shift problem and it shifts nice and firm but every now an then it hunts when i take off. (did all the cable adjustments as well)

From past experience I would not touch the bands EVER! Especially the front. Try changing the speed sensor on the trans. If it has shavings on the magnet, the trans will shift like s%$#. Good luck.

Yeah, you can adjust them seperately. They don't have any dependencies or relationship.

Did you change the gov solenoid and transducer? Those are the usual culprits. Adjusting the band tighter usually makes the problem more noticeable so don't be too surprised if that happens.

I did the adjustment, and the set screw was at the "1 3/4" turns. I adjusted it to 1 1/2 turns and did a test drive, and it seems to shift better, but i will drive for a couple of days and post results.

I finally got into the engine compartment and fine tuned the Throttle Valve Cable clip, and now it shifts nice, firm and on time.
