Attention: TDR Forum Junkies 
This weekend my brother and I changed the trans fluid on his truck. We also reset the bands on the transmission. When we checked and torqued the rear band, I really got a lot of adjustment. I had about five threads showing before breaking the lock nut and after the adjustment..... torqueing the set screw to 72 in. lbs. and backing off two rounds. I only had maybe one thread left after tighening the lock nut. Is this too much adjustment for a truck with 140k miles on it? As you can see we are newbies, but love to work on our trucks. He has a 96 3500 2wd 3. 54 totally stock. The front band was about the same results. Oh yeah, this is the first time for the bands to be tightened (adjusted) on this truck. 
My brother bought it one year old with 40k on it. We dont know what or how much the truck pulled before he bought it, but he hasnt pulled much of anything since he bought it.
