When I change my banjo bolts I know that I need to replace the rubber seal on the bolt itself. But do I need to also replace the one on the other side of the fitting ??

1 seal or 2 per banjo bolt ??

p. s. Do I get these seals from the dealer or Cummins ??

TIA

Jeff

A seal washer belongs on both sides of the banjo but I changed out all mine once and didnt mess with the washers and all was fine.

Cheers, Kevin

Most banjo bolt seals are copper washers. You can get by re-useing them some times. I would advise having some new spares. Available at Cummins or Bosch Service dealers.

Cummins PN 3963983

I just installed Wildcat Diesels fuel line kit and eliminated the banjos. The washers/seals/gaskets on the removed banjos didn't look good enough to reuse.

Thank You for the replies! And for the part number !

24V-DSL do you have the stock LP in the stock location ?? If you do what did the Wildcat line kit do for your pressure ??

Rod is definately a class guy !!!

p. s. I have an '02, are my washers copper also ??

Jeff...

Didn't move the lift pump.

My pressures are read at the inlet to the VP44, and I now have it pegged at ~16 psi (Autometer electric 15 psi guage) sometimes, and otherwise 14-16 at idle, 13-14 at 70mph cruise, and 9-10 at WOT with the comp on 5/5. With the comp on 3/3 where it usually is, I'm seeing 10-12 at WOT. The readings are much more stable than before. I could pull down to 2-4 at WOT before with Ray T's bigger banjos. My results were much better than I had hoped for.

Agree about Rod. This is a high quality kit, IMO.

My washers are not copper. Just ordered some more from Cummins NW, but they haven't arrived so don't know if they've changed.

if you want to reuse the copper washers in a pinch, grab a propane torch and heat them up then let them cool off slowly. this softens up the copper up again and lets them seal nicely...
