What is the banjo bolt and do I need to buy one to install an auto meter 4313 FP Gauge?

if your truck is 2000 or newer, yes you should use the banjo bolt

in your 99 there will be 2 fittings on top of the fuel filter, I think the rearword one is pre filter, the forward one is after filter.



If you look at the top of the filter, you will see how the fuel lines have a round end on them, with a bolt through the center of them. The round end looks like a banjo, there for the bolt going through the fitting is a banjo bolt.
