I had remembered a thread a while back about Genos banjo bolts not being threaded correctly for a fuel guage. I just bought a grease gun grease hose and sure enough it won't thread into the banjo bolt. I have had the bolts for quite a while now and just haven't gotten around to putting them on. Is there an easy fix? Can I just retap the threads or where can I get a new bolt? :(

retap

I just ran a 1/8"NPT tap through them a couple of times, with lots of antiseize on the tap and have had no problems. Took all of about 5 minutes.

ps the hole is not that far off so there is no need to re-drill it, just run the tap through

the threads are right

they just didnt tap it deep enough

as u probably know pipe threads expand as u go deeper

(tapered )

I think the plating they put on them is what causes most of the problem

anyway should be a quick and easy fix if u have a tap

Be Very Careful tightening those down, I had one snap at the 18 ft. lb. rating, I was using my torque wrench, and it never made it past I would guess 15. Glad I ordered two. Then when I did get the second one in, you got it, it wouldn't take the hose. Amidst various curses, I found my tap and reamed that sucker out, All is well now. ,

They are the conections for the fuel lines to the fuel pump. The ones from Genos are larger in diameter, thus more fuel can flow through them. You can also buy the bolt drilled and tapped for a fuel gauge. That is the one I had the question about.
