Ok, I just got my gauges installed on the pilllar (all westach, EGT, Boost, Fuel Pressure, and Dual Temp). Boost and EGT operating. Waiting for lube to install rear diff cover and will install senders there and in trans after this problem is solved.

I bought the Ray T. banjo bolts and was hot to go to install Fuel Pressure senders with grease gun whips. However, RayT. 's banjo's sure do not appear to be 1/8 NPT. Do I have a defective pair or are they metric threads, like the local guru here is telling me? The 1/8th NPT really does not want to thread in to them. Or should I be using metric?

I apologize in advance for posting on 911, but this is drivng me nuts.

X-ring

I got a set from Geno's about a week ago and ran into the same problem. All I was able to get was two turns and then it just binds up. When I checked the treads inside the bolt, they did not look tapped correctly. I re-tapped the bolts 1/8 NTP and it worked just fine. I guess the one I received was not the only one that had this problem. At least it is simple to fit !!!:(

Banjos

Ok, perhaps retapping will work then. It seems to me that that should not be the4 case however.

I have the same condition. Very tight threads after about 1. 5 turns. I am hoping to get some resolution here tonight so that I can have lines made up tommorrow AM.

Thanks to those of you who have already responded and in advance to those of you who will.

I am also in the process of installing a fuel pressure gauge after one bad pump and the one they put in seems to be going bad also. My banjo fittings were real tight also. Did I say that outloud?

NPT pipe thread

As you fella's probably know these threads are tapered, the deeper the tap the more thread is used. Happens alot, think its a time element thing with manuf. Looking to put some gauges on soon. Is there a dual read digital pressure gauge out there somewhere? Haven't found one yet.

tap fittings

ditto for me, I had 1/8" NPT tap ran it into the hole, threads are 1/8" but it apprears the original tap was not run down deep enough. pipe threads are tappered and you can not just run the tap in to the minimum depth, the deeper you run the tap the "larger" the threads will be at the begining where you start the thread. make sense to you???

I ran a tap through mine also, no big deal really. I wonder if they are a little tight because the plating was done after they were tapped. Just a thought. Oo.

Gentlemen ...

I think (pretty sure) Ray has these plated after he makes them ... . most likely the problem ... I ran into the same thing. Running the tap through was effortless and basically removed the plating.

It's Done

Yep, you all were right! I ran a tap into them and have everything installed tonight. Pressures are very good and I greatly appreciate all of your help.
