How many "Banjo Bolts" are there on a 99 215 HP Cummins engine? I just received some oversized Banjos from a TDR member & received (3) standard banjos, & (2) with the schrader valves... ... Is this correct? I expected to see (5) standard "Banjos". (2) for the LP, (2) for the fuel filter, & (1) for the inlet to the VP44.

Thanks for any help with this in advance... .

98. 5 and 99's will have 5 standard bolts... with the one at the VP being a little different in so much as its slightly shorter and has three large holes versus the four smaller holes as the other 4 do. The pressure is taken at the filter head test ports as you probably already know.

2000 and up use 4 plain ones while the fifth one at the VP has the pressure test valve.

If they were free... . someone probably had installed a replacement bolt pre filter to get pressure readings there also. Assuming the have the schrader valve and larger holes they must have drilled out stock bolts.

Aftermarket test port bolts usually have a large hex head with 1/8NPT for gauge hookup and no actual schrader valve.

What amazes me most on 2000 up trucks are the actual banjo fittings themselves. The short rubber hose between the LP and filter has two fuel hose barb fittings. If you look at the ID of the hole where the barb comes into the round head of the fitting the hole there is as small or smaller than one of the holes drilled in the side of the banjo bolt.

I dont see how bolts with larger holes (4) are gonna help a thing when your still trying to push all the fuel through one tiny hole in the fitting neck. There are two of these tiny fittings to boot. Lots and lots of restriction there right off the lift pump.

The 1999's and older use a different setup as far as the lines go and have somewhat larger holes in the fittings.
