My 03 has a Banks Exhaust Brake that wasn't working when I got the truck, the controller wasn't getting power, I've resolved that issue but in going through the the functional testing in the installation manual I got off of Banks website it says that when I turn the key on the compressor should run for a couple seconds and then shut off, it does this but then about every 5-6 seconds it comes back on for a second, I thought maybe there was an air leak but can't seem to find one. Is it normal for the compressor to kick on and off like this or is there something else I need to be concerned with.

Thanks for any help you can give me,

Caleb

Hi Caleb,

I have a 03 with a Banks brake that I installed. It does the same thing as yours. It has done this since day one. I can't find a leak anywhere, I suppose this is normal.

Thanks,

One less thing to worry about, been trying to fix all the little things that the prior owner let slip. Getting ready for a 3000 mile trip and just thought it would be nice to get the Brake working, sounds like it's working ok. I've taken it for a test drive since my first post(I had just fixed the wiring issue) and it seems to work ok, was just concerned with the compressor cycling.

Thanks for the info,

Caleb
