Yes I know about the whole banks + electronics = no good but oh well...

Anyway, I installed a banks brake on my truck roughly 2 years ago. Install went well and it has worked flawless up to about 6 months ago. It would sometimes not come on when I let off the accelerator pedal but would start working again a bit later. Then after this had been happening for a while I noticed that if I push the pedal down a tiny bit, maybe 1/8", the brake will come on but if I let off it will shut off. It seems to me like the banks brake controller lost it's calibration to what voltage from the pedal to turn on at?

Those unfamiliar with the banks brake, it plugs directly into the engine ecm and reads the pedal position that way, does not use a microswitch on the pedal. It has now been this way for about 3 months where I have to push it down a bit for it to work. It used to only do it a few times then go back to normal but now it just stays that way. Is there anyway to calibrate this thing? I've tried unplugging it to maybe reset it but nothing. Banks says it's warranty is up and I have to buy another

It's getting kind of old trying to use my right foot to hold the gas pedal at just the perfect spot to keep the brake on and then use my left foot to work the truck brakes while going down hills with my gooseneck...

They said to send it in and they will look and if somethings wrong they will sell me a new one... I'd rather just get rid of the controller and use a momentary switch on the shift knob or something but I'd like to get the current one working if I can.

I heard back from another tech at banks today and he mentioned the apps being out of adjustment. He wasn't sure if it could be adjusted though or just had to be replaced. Can it be adjusted? I'm going to check the voltage signal coming out of it at idle here shortly once I get home.

I's send it to banks, if they replace it fine. If they say you have to pay for it I would tell them where to stick it and get a Pacbrake. :D
