IN A PINCH TO COMPLETE BRAKE INSTALL FOR 2000 MILE TRIP STARTING 0300 HOURS ON 12/26 THROUGH 1/1/03

BANKS EXHAUST BRAKE Installation step 34 (on 1999-2002 vehicle) says to "... use red wire located in wiring harness in the engine compartment as shown in FIGURE 10... " And FIGURE 10 clearly states, ("ON RED WIRE WITH NO STRIPE") The word "NO" was emphasized .

However, there is NO SOLID RED WIRE in that bundle. All the red wires have stripes on them (either green or white). Help.  Jim

MERRY CHRISTMAS

I'm not sure if anyone will answer on Christmas Day, but I would give it a try and call Banks Tech Support number at -

I'm a PacBrake Distributor and I'll try and give you a couple of suggestions... ... we never take for granted the wiring diagrams that are suggested by various vendors... ... They will usually look at the first truck off he assemble line and will never update manuals until the next model of engine comes out.....

1 - see if banks has their wiring diagrams on their web sights... . and see if that helps you.....

2 - if you are connecting to 12v for the power to the exhaust brake we never tie into the wiring harness but instead get the 12v that we need from the fuse block... . Usually there is at least one or two open cativities that we can put a jumper into.....

3 - the PacBrake Exhaust brake has its own fuse so we shorten the lead so that the fuse holder can be seen when the fuse panel cover is removed... ...

If you can find their web sight and wiring diagram there's a good chance that I can talk you through the installation... ...
