I am interested in the cat back exhaust for my 06 ram. I would like to hear how you like it, from any of the members on this site that have their cat back exhaust on your 04. 5 and newer trucks.

I have one and am very satisfied. However I had the cat removed at the same time of installing the muffler. I had it straight-piped first and really liked it that way, but decided to go with the Banks muffler to quiet it down.

I bought new turbo back Banks exhaust for an 03 from a dealer that decided

not to use it and installed on my 04. 5. I am very pleased with the fit and sound of my system. I got a full stainless system with no cat at a good price.

I've had mine for some time now. It was slightly louder than stock, especially when towing. It sort of sounds like a tractor/trailer. One of the first things I noticed was the 70 mph/2K rpm drone was gone. Well worth the money. Have who ever installs it placed the chrome tip a bit farther out beyond the fender. Otherwise the black soot gathers on the fender. I extended mine out where it still looks good and I only get a little soot on the bumper. :D

Yeah, I know it's 4 inch, but I don't feel like cutting and welding some of the other mufflers in place. And I have read numerous post where the mbrp is loud..... I don't want loud

I have not received any complaint's in the loud dept, only the cost but you get would you pay for. Contact us on pricing. Its throaty when your foot in it,at cruising it a two/four decibels louder than stock.

I put the Banks Monster cat back system on when I first bought the truck. I liked it fine. Like stated above a little louder than stock, definitely louder under load accelerating, but cruise was fine and no drone. One of the most costly, but it is a quality system. Fit was perfect. Of course now the only thing left is the muffler, but it still sounds perfect to me.

If you want to just waste some good hard earned money please DO replace your perfectly GOOD system you have now with the Banks junk. You already have 4" system. Find you a good high flow muffler and have the factory muffler replaced.

Since I played nice and didnt bring it up I have to tell you that there has been some quality issues on Banks exhaust. There have been people here that have had rust issues on their fancy stainless Banks system.

Try and Search their exhaust.

I hate for a newbie to drop $600 on a disappointment.

Not really a newbie, been around here for quite a while, just don't post much on this site. I also had their monster exhaust on my 02 and loved it. Since my truck doesn't drive in the rust belt and it is parked inside most of the time I don't worry about rust 2 much.

Well my Banks Monster muffler, tail pipe and tip have been on for over 2 years and 52,000 miles with out any sign of rust or other issues. Just my experience.

BTW I paid $410 for the complete CAT back installed. Still higher than a muffler and tip and I probably would do it different now, but I was/am satisfied with the product.

oops I didnt look at your date, just the posts... .

Sorry

The price on this sytem is comparable when you consider the warranty. I could of have saved around 90-100 dollars. But the cheaper system had a three year warranty verse a lifetime (banks). I've learned the hard way that sometimes your better off just spending a few extra bucks. Just my opinion. You asked.

I went with the mbrp cat back and it was louder than anticipated.

Around town it sounded great but after about the 3rd hour I was ready to open the door and jump out of the cab (still rollin). As I had already replaced the exhuast I had no other recourse but to try a dif. muf. Went with the Aero Turbine Resinator and love it. No drone (tip extended) and cab noise real close to stock.

If I had it to do over I would leave the stock exhuast and just replace the muf. and save $$.
