I installed a Banks exhaust and in-line Pac Brake this weekend. I'll try to post the pictures.
I put the brake at the bottom of the head pipe. It's a tight fit but is fairly well protected from road spray. I used the air tank and trans shifter switch (the switch does not buzz
). The retarding at slower speeds is better then I remember the Jacobs being. The brake came out of the box set for 40 PSI retarding pressure, I used the Pac Brake gauge kit to set it to 60 PSI. The welds on the flange are not as pretty as I would like but I did not want to drive a long distance to find a welder. I had a local rural neighbor with a wire feed do it for me. Both the inside and outside are welded so they will probably last a long time. I'll have to save up for my own wire feed welder.
The exhaust was easy to put on. I thought I would keep the stock exhaust until I found the joints were crimped as well as clamped. Out came the saws-all to make quick work of the removal. The new exhaust is a little louder than stock, especially when accelerating. It has a nice throaty sound and seems to be it's quietest at 2500 rpm. That would be somewhere around 80 mph so I wont be using it there much.
