Road tested.. what still works or not?

price d/f b/t delvac1 and amsoil

Does anyone know if Banks sell their "high ram" air intake by itself and if so how much? I've emailed them and called them and no one there will get in touch with me about this.

Not to rain on your parade, but there is not performance gain from the high ram. One user has experienced 10 HP decrease on the dyno.

Bully Dog--Big Air Intake

JBritton,

Bully Dog make a nice intake that is, at least, very similar to the Banks. They are sold individually by any Bully Dog dealer or direct from Mike at Bully Dog. Larry

It is worth pointing out that the Bully Dog “Big Air” kit is actually a Banks High-Ram with the Banks logo ground off. The one that we bought from them still had the Banks part number on the casting. So it would be impossible for any performance difference to exist between a Banks part and the Bully Dog part (which is really a Banks part).

Banks sells the High-Ram for a retail price of $309, Bully Dog lists the “Big Air” for $350.

I was thinking the same thing Peter!

I too looked at the Bully Dog link and immediately noticed that the Bully Dog intake was in fact, a Banks High-Ram. Why? Simply, because I spent AT LEAST 50 hours modifying mine prior to having it chrome plated (actually... nickel, copper, copper, copper, copper, nickel and finally, chrome plated... :D )... and know each and every inch of that trick piece intimately!

 <--- you will need these to look at it on a sunny day!

From what I have read on here looking under the hood of John's truck on a sunny day requires a welding helmet... :D

per my first post in this thread...

here it is! (I looked all over for a pic of my chrome plated Banks High-Ram... I couldn't seem to find one but my good buddy Rob Hanson came through for me and found one!) :D

BTW, this is an old pic of my engine compartment. I have made numerous enhancements since this pic was taken!

If I'm not mistaken, this pic was taken at BD's Dyno Days in April 2002

Wow that's bright...

Nice pic John. Performance questions aside, it's worth it for the cool factor. Oo. Oo. Oo.

Another Buckshot original, a few coats of copper and some chrome and John won't have anything on you OO.

Hey Nowel did Gale send you that High Ram yet that he promised you? :p

OO,

That intake piece looks a lot like one of our prototypes! In fact, if you have ever seen the Trucks!TV segment about our product for the 24-valve, the High-Ram used in that was a pre-production (prototype) piece, and it looks a lot like the one on your truck.
