I am looking at the Banks Monster Exhaust System for my truck (02, 2500, LB, QC, 4x4). Banks says that the installation is pretty easy and it all clamps together. Has anyone done this? Is it easy, and do the clamps hold well?

Any comments or suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

thanks

I have a couple of "suggestions". First read this thread. Second, don't use the supplied clamps. it is not that they don't work, in fact, quite the contrary. Once they are on you will fight to get it back off again. Go to a local exhaust shop and pick up the stainless bands that seal the exhaust without actually deforming the metal. Back when I had the Banks exhaust (before it rusted) I used the supplied clamps and when I went to install a HX-40 downpipe I had the cut the exhaust to remove the Banks downpipe. Real PITA

I hope you got the power elbow with it. That makes a difference. Also pay attention to how the pipe clears the rear axil when you have full weight in the truck.

Just want to clarify that the supplied clamps work as designed . The PITA that I went through is in no way Banks fault. I am just saying to think ahead that you might have reason to remove a portion or all of the exhaust. :)
