banks monster exhaust

go with the banks 4" monster exhaust or not. did a search , i can not believe all the mixed reviews. some like'em some hate'em. were there two different versions out there for the 03 and 04's. ones that drone and ones that didn't. i would think something must have changed for such a mixed review.

I have had mine since August of 03 and like it a lot. The DRONE I had was more the power-steering hose at 2100 plus Rpm then anything. Instant fuel mpg increase and just enough noise to be noticed when on the go pedal.

Interesting how "product reviews" tend to be very biased - either for or against.



From what I've read, most of the people who actually have one on their 3rd Gen like 'em. Havent had a bit of drone with mine so far, install went well, etc. , etc. ,



I'd still like some type of verification that getting the FULL 4" (replacing the turbo down tube) actually benefits or will benefit once EDGE gets that dang box out!

Call DPP

Call DPP as I just receive mine Monster Exhaust this week for 04 Cummins. There are a few places you can get new old stock if you call around, Bank did revise the muffler last fall sometime and the new muffler is better with a resonator area built in I believe and the new double wall tip is impressive just to look at.



Search for DPP in site sponsors as they are the ones in Pasco, Wa that sell aeroturbines, and TAGs. I preferred to do business with a TDR supporter and I told them so. They will beat the torque and chrome price.



In fact, I left a voice message with T&C the day before I ordered my system, and still have not heard back from them, 1 1/2 weeks ago.

you will not nor ever find the benefits of the FULL 4" until you do a turbo upgrade. 3. 5" choke point or full 4", it makes no difference, the restrictive HY35 turbo is your new "exhaust blocker". if you do the install of the banks yourself, you will see just how tiny the HY35 turbine is (= low throughput) and realize your truck would have near equal performance with the stock exhaust (less the stock muffler) and drain you of far less change $. so if money is a major deciding factor, i would research on how to replace the muffler with a straight through design and stick with the rest of the stock exhaust. with all that being said, i have the "new" banks monster; it is the best; smoothest mandrel bends and a muffler with some thought built into it.





the people that don't like the banks exhaust don't have one and dislike banks in general because their products are higher priced and deliver lower power than what you can get elsewhere - that is certainly plausible. i personally would not buy any other banks product, but their monster exhaust RULES!
