I have a Banks Monster 4" exhaust on my rig and my friend "Rankram" has a magnaflow on his truck. His truck sounds sweet, nice rumble, like a big block V8. The banks is airy and my truck has a fierce drone under my heavy foot at 2000-2200 RPMs. If I had to do it all over again, I'd go with the Magnaflow. My 02 cents.

I'm lovin' my Aeroturbine with all 4" Banks pipe. Just the right amount of bark and the drone only comes out the back at 2000 and plays a nice tune. The ricer's are jealous... ... ... .

Is the Magnaflow a complete system, or just a muffler. Where is the muffler placement (are they in the same place)? Any chance of a sound-clip from the M/F? I'm still looking. I want the rumble, but don't want much more than stock noise.

He left the 3 1/2" down tube and 4" forward and went with a new muff in stock location with 4" aft. Any "performance" exhaust will increase noise. This is the best sound I have heard in or out of the truck.

Like I've posted before, I have no drone at all with my Monster Exhaust. I wontder if you might need to tighten up some bolts or adjust your tube's a little???

This brings up a good question. In my kit, there is a piece of tube that jogs over a couple inches. Whish way did everyone else put this jog in - Horizontally or vertically? The instruciton sheet wasnt very clear on this, I think we put mine in with the jog vertically. I get a periodic vibration - mostly at idle - that I think may be because this tube should be oriented with a horizontal jog.

Magnaflow is supposed to have a complete system, turbo-back, at the end of March. Joe Donnelly, if I am not mistaken, said that if you are not going to get real creative with a lot of power, that the muffler "only" replacement would work just fine. Magnaflow makes a 20", 24" and 30", straight-thru muffler, I believe. Joe, also, mentioned that He liked a muffler that did not have louvre's in the pipe. He preferred just the holes on the inside pipe. I think it"s because the louvres get in the way of the smooth flow of the exhaust. The Magnaflow has the holes in the pipe. The Magnaflow system is supposed to come with the 30" muffler. Hope this helps. Joe.
