Among the devices Banks sells is a their OttoMind controller which is supposed to control the fuel air mixture, exhaust temperature and several other things.

Does any one have any experience with an OttoMind?

I don't personally own one but I have researched them. I personally didn't think it was for me for two reasons: it plugs into the back of the pump and you have to tap one or some of the wires. I do not want to risk my warrantee. eek: Plus in order for it to be able to see the EGT's you need to run their gauges, which I do not personally like the way they look. As far as how they perform, the people who have them seem to be happy with them. :

I have a Banks Power Pack with the Ottomind and the Temp Limiting Control works very well. So well, in fact, that you don't have access to the power that it is supposed to produce. It is good for towing but I have always felt that you should be able to switch it in or out as you choose.

TST's newest Powermax3 has an adjustable temperature limit control. You can set it anywhere from 500 degrees (they need to make that number higher - no need for it to be so low) up to 1500 degrees, or off. I just installed the remote display model last week at the Scheid Diesel event (with a one off custom program) and it works awesome! It's hooked up to my existing pre-turbo pyrometer with a second set of leads running to the pyro (so there are two sets of leads running from in the truck to the engine compartment - one for my pyro gauge and one for the powermax).

The 500F setting would make a great vallet switch..... but if an un-educated driver was using my truck I would want a limit of 800F so they do not burn it up, and wrap it around a telephone pole.
