I recently installed a Banks Powerpack on my HO 2001 six speed. It ran great before the Powerpack but it runs a whole lot better now. One thing I noticed is that engine temperature rises quickly when pulling a grade or doing 100 mph for several miles(don't judge me here). I took the truck to the carwash and blew thru the radiator as best I could and it still warms up under load. Today I spoke to a friend who is a diesel mechanic at a dodge dealership and he said the original thermostat might need to be replaced and he's even seen them broke in half. Cummins and Dodge both offer an improved thermostat at $55. 00 at Cummins and $35. 00 at Dodge. The improved model is not covered by warranty but I'm assuming if the old one is broken they'd at least give you a new original version. What do you see on engine temp rise on your bombed rig?
